Cubbies
We put all of our textbooks, workbooks, and notebooks in our cubbies. These keep our books neat.
Homework

In Order to save on paper, the math workbook pages will be ripped out and sent home. The children will do both sides of the math page.
The Science or Social Studies textbook will also be sent home every week in our effort to conserve paper. These books are very colorful and educational but, they are heavy. Please help your children carry them when they leave school. The Science or Social Studies textbook may be returned on Friday (the day of the test).

Spelling words of the week - Test Friday
Every Friday, they will either have a Science or Social Studies Test.
1 Math workbook page each night - both sides
1 Reading sheet each night - both sides

Please fill out the Reading Log. Some children are already on their second sheet.

GO FIRST GRADE AUTHORS!

Word Wall

The First Grade has a word wall. We use the word wall to copy words that we need to spell and use during the day. We have lists of sports, animals, colors, plants, opposites, places, shapes, people, food, action words, and holidays.

We also have 33 colorful sentence strips that help us know what a sentence is.
Here are some of our sentences:
A puppy is a baby dog.
The Yankees won the World Series in 2009.

Friends are nice.

Here are some pictures of our class.

We go over sight word cards.
