3.  Phonics - write the -less and -ness words in your HW notebooks in sentences.  Please know what the suffixes -less and -ness mean 

Grade 2 will be writing biographies soon.  each child has selected a subject (an adult they know - NOT a parent) and has a list of interview questions they have compiled.  The interview questionnaire is to be completed by next Friday, Mar. 12.

DESSERT DAY

Dessert Day was a great success.  We had many delicious treats.  Mmmmm!  Our buddies and Mrs. Browne came too.  Fun time!

TEST SCHEDULE

Thursday, Mar. 11 - Spelling, Reading

 We successfully grew calcium acetate crystals!  We added eggshells to vinegar.  They bubbled and foamed.  The bubbles were carbon dioxide.  We observed them daily.  We noticed the vinegar begin to evaporate.  The acetic acid in the vinegar began to dissolve the eggshells.  The acid and the calcium in the shells turned into crystals.

The vinegar has evaporated from most of our containers, but not this one.

Most of our containers look like this.  We think the crystals look like popcorn!

WE'RE FINALLY BRINGING HOME OUR CRYSTALS!  WE NOTICED THAT NOT ALL THE EGGSHELLS DISSOLVED.  WE ALSO NOTICED THAT THE CRYSTALS ARE QUITE FRAGILE.  OVERALL WE THINK IT WAS A SUCCESS.
