Religion:  Lent is a time of prayer, sacrifice, and good works.  Take time to reflect on the way to prepare yourself to greet the risen Lord on Easter. Also, think about your favorite saying or action of Jesus and how does it speak to you in a special way. Finish picture of The Kingdom of Heaven.

Grammar: worksheet due on Tues.

Reading: Students should be reading at least 30 minutes every night. Review vocabulary words for "Crispin".  Mystery Book Report due on March 22nd.

Science:

Begin Ch. 17: page 479 1-2 in notebook. Look at edheads.com about simple machines.

We will begin the projects on Thursday. The groups have been told when to bring in their projects. 

The bibliography that I gave them for the SS project can be used for the upcoming science fair. Instructions will be sent home.

Math: students need to bring in $11 for the Buckle Down Review Book for the state math if they have not already done so; test Monday;page 231 #1-4,7,9,11;sign test 1C, worksheets 1-1, 1A,1-7;page 231 #8,10,12,14-17

Spelling: continue to complete workbooks pages, due on Wed.  Worksheet due on Wed.

     Reminders 

• Information was given out on Monday concerning the Science Fair, which will be held on April 20th.  Students should hand in their proposals no later than Thursday, March, 18th.  Students can work alone, or with one other person.
• Shop at Stew Leonard's from Monday, March 1st through Sunday, April 4th and Stew's will give 5% of the total spending by all members of the Christ the King family.  Please submit your receipts to CTK school or church.  Containers will be in back of church and in the school office.
• Coupons were sent home for Modell's.  You can save 15% on purchases when you shop from 3/12/10 - 4/8/10 and our school receives 5% back.
• Congratulations to the Girls JV basketball team for winning the WCSL Championship and having an undefeated season.  Well done girls!!
• CTK will be collecting "Change for Children", in order to help the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Pediatric Center. 
• There will be a Winter Dance for grades 6-8 on Fri. March 11th in the gym from 7pm - 10pm.  Information was sent home on Fri..
• Those who march in the Yonkers St. Patrick's Day parade will have a dress down day the next day, Mon., Feb. 8th
• Information was given out  regarding the Annual Tag Sale
• Information was given out  regarding the Police Athletic League Poster Girl and Boy contest.                
• The mission for this month is "Hope For Denise", a 1986 graduate of CTK.
• Thanks to all who paticipated in "Hoops For Heart".  Our class collected the most money and surpassed the goal we set at $600.00.  We raised $687.13. Congratulations to    Grade 6 !!!
• Christ the King is now offering Pizza Lunch every Friday, and Deli Lunches on Mon. thru Thurs.  Please go to the "SCHOOL FORM" page for order forms and further information.
• Band is on Thursday.  Please remember to bring in your instruments
• Please keep in mind that when your child is sick, work will not be sent home with a younger sibling, or friend, unless requested.
